Essay Writing Competition

A solo non-technical competition where participants will showcase their writing and critical thinking skills through an essay. The competition consists of two rounds.

Event Structure

Round 1

• Topic: Provided in advance.
• Duration: 1 hour.
• Eligibility: Open to students from all branches and years.
• Language: Choice of Hindi or English.
• Selection Criteria: Top 10 students per language advance to Round 2.

Round 2

• Topic: Given on the spot.
• Duration: 1 hour.
• Eligibility: Only selected 20 participants from Round 1 compete.

General Rules

• College ID card is mandatory for participation.
• Mobile phones and reference materials are prohibited during the writing period.
• Maximum word limit: 800 words.
• Writing sheets will be provided by the college.
• Plagiarism results in immediate disqualification.

Judging Criteria

• Relevance to the Topic: How well the content aligns with the prompt.
• Originality & Creativity: Unique ideas and perspectives.
• Clarity of Thought & Structure: Logical flow and coherence.
• Grammar & Language: Accuracy in grammar and effective communication.
• Overall Impact: How compelling and engaging the essay is.

Prizes

• Top 3 participants will receive trophies and certificates.
• All other participants will receive a certificate of participation.
